Privacy Policy

Short version: DeckView does not collect your data. There are no accounts, no servers, and no analytics built into the apps. Your track information travels from your Serato setup to your phone over Bluetooth and nowhere else. This page explains exactly what that means.
Who is responsible
The DeckView team provides the DeckView macOS app and the DeckView phone app. You can reach us at [email protected].
What DeckView does with your data
- Track information. The DeckView Companion app links with Serato on the Mac to see the artist and title playing on each deck. It only reads this to display it — it never changes anything in your Serato.
- Bluetooth link. That track info is sent straight to your paired phone over Bluetooth. It's a direct link between the two devices — it does not go over the internet, Wi-Fi, or any server.
- Pairing code. A 4-digit code is stored on the Mac and, once you pair, on your phone, so the apps can reconnect. It is only used to authorise the Bluetooth connection.
What we do not collect
- We have no servers and no backend, so your track data never reaches us.
- There are no user accounts, sign-ins, or profiles.
- We do not collect names, emails, locations, or device identifiers through the apps.
- We do not include third-party advertising or tracking SDKs.
This website
This marketing site is separate from the apps. Like most websites, our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type, and timestamps) for security and to keep the site running. If you email us, we receive your message and email address so we can reply. We do not use advertising cookies on this site. If we ever add analytics that require consent under UK/EU law, we'll ask first.
App store data
If you download the iPhone app from the Apple App Store, Apple may collect its own information about the download (for example, aggregate install statistics) under its own privacy policy. That is between you and Apple — DeckView does not receive your personal details from them.
Permissions the apps request
- Bluetooth — required so the Mac and phone can find and talk to each other. This is the core of how DeckView works.
- Serato access (Mac)— so the Companion app can see what's playing in your Serato. It only reads this; it never changes anything.
DeckView does not request location, contacts, photos, microphone, or camera access.
Children
DeckView is a tool for DJs and is not directed at children under 13. It does not knowingly collect any personal data from anyone, including children.
Your rights
Because the apps don't collect personal data, there is nothing for us to access, export, or delete on your behalf. For anything relating to email you've sent us, or this website, you can contact us at [email protected]. If you're in the UK or EEA and believe your data has been mishandled, you can also complain to your local data protection authority — in the UK that's the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. Where a change is material, we'll make it clear on this page.
